Story Bird: Sammy the Budgie

I had Sammy 6 years and my most recent budgie for 2 mos. I was boiling water in some new cookware that was teflon non-stick coated. The pot boiled dry--I was online and not paying attention to it. I had just found out about the toxic fumes released by overheated teflon about 1 month before this. I opened the door and checked on the birds who were covered in their cage and they seemed fine. The next day when I uncovered the cage they were both lying still on the bottom. I just got this cookware for Christmas 2000 and I now plan to give it away. Its not worth risking the life of my new bird I got today.
